Brieton Sykes, of Calhoun City, and Walt Maddox, of Bruce, earned two of the top awards handed out for Region 4-2A football last week.
Sykes, a senior RB and DB, was named Player of the Year for the region.
He has rushed for nearly 1,200 yards and 21 touchdowns, has over 250 receiving yards with a touchdown, and passed for more than 500 yards and five scores.
Defensively, he has two interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Wildcats. He ranks second in all of Class 2A in points scored this season.
Walt Maddox, a junior linebacker for the Trojans, was named co-Defensive Player of the Year in the region with John Williams of East Webster.
Maddox ranks fourth in all of Class 2A with 128 tackles. He finished the regular season with a 20 tackle performance against Okolona.
He was also third on the team in sacks, had two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and an interception he returned for a touchdown.
Other Super 24 offensive honorees were OT Taylor White of Calhoun City, TE Paul Tutor of Bruce, RB Jesse Nabors of Calhoun City, and WR Jyair Pierce of Calhoun City.
Super 24 defensive honorees were DT Easton Doles, DE Jaalen Thomas, LB Atarius Moore, and DB Tyrese Quinn of Calhoun City and CB Ike Willis of Bruce.
Other all region honorees included Bryce Fleming, Levi Harrelson, Taylor Liles, Keshun Roberson, Jo Gray, Keshun Parker, and Treshone Cooper of Calhoun City; and Wesley Ross, Fisher Ray and Justin Flemons of Bruce.
The Calhoun City coaching staff earned the coaching honors for the region.
