Donta Armstrong was selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region 23 team and was twice listed on the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State lineup as well.

In addition to Armstrong’s awards, five additional members of the Tiger football program were also honored with all-conference recognition for their individual actions this year.

“It was awesome because each of these young men are deserving of everything that they’ve got,” said Northeast head coach Greg Davis. “These guys performed up to their expectations and that’s all that we ever asked.”

Armstrong was selected as a MACJC All-State performer at wide receiver and as a return specialist. He accumulated the most catches and yards of any wideout for Northeast during both of his seasons on the squad.

The Bruce High School graduate hauled in 29 passes for 331 yards this year. Armstrong recorded his lone touchdown of the campaign during his last outing with the Tigers at Holmes Community College.

He amassed phenomenal totals of 68 catches, 869 yards and five scores during his phenomenal tenure in the City of Hospitality. Armstrong had a career-best 120 yards twice as a freshman.

Armstrong led the entire country at the end of the regular season with 772 return yards. He was tabbed as the MACJC Special Teams Player of the Week with 298 yards between fielded kickoffs and punts versus Mississippi Delta Community College.
