Eight members of the 1973 Bruce High School baseball team, along with their coaches, met Saturday to unveil signs recognizing them as North Half Champs.
Present were, l to r, Jackey Turner, Billy Burnham, Ricky Turner, Jim Beckett, Mike Jones, Barry Daniel, Coach Robert ‘Blue’ Logan, Steve Runer, David Welch and Coach Darrell Logan. The photo sign will be placed at the baseball facility, to which they made a donation, and the 1973 sign on the outfield fence. The group was recognized on the field during innings of the Bruce vs. Vardaman baseball game. The 16-6 team of 1973 beat Kosciusko for the North Half, but fell to Franklin County in the second game of a best of three set, 4-2 and 5-4, at state. Photos by Celia Hillhouse
