Calhoun City, Vardaman and Bruce are all sending athletes to the state track meet.
Calhoun City has three girls’ relay teams, Kynia Thompson in the 800 meters, Quay Bailey in the 100 meters, Treshon Cooper in the high jump and Tyreke Justice in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Mykilah Williams, Monica Wright and Sarah Wooten, all of Vardaman, have advanced to the state meet. Wooten won North Half in the high jump. Williams advanced in the long, high and triple jumps. Wright advanced in the long and triple jumps and 100 meters.
Quin Davis, of Bruce, will compete at state in the 400 and 200 meters. He placed second and third respectively in those events at North Half.
