Basketball season around Calhoun County is starting to hit full stride with all teams playing multiple games each week.
Bruce hosted Water Valley last night (Tuesday) after the Trojans won at Valley last Tuesday 89-47 and the girls lost 61-40.
They are scheduled to play at Houston Thursday and South Pontotoc Friday.
Vardaman lost a pair of games to Lafayette last week – 52-20 in girls’ action and 51-15 for the boys.
Vardaman is scheduled to play at Water Valley Friday.
Calhoun Academy hosted Humphreys Tuesday and travels to North Sunflower on Friday before taking a week off for Thanksgiving.
Calhoun City’s Lady Wildcats defeated Amory 62-46 in the IAHS shootout Saturday with Tyra Tucker scoring 27 points.
Calhoun City hosted Coffeeville Tuesday night.
The Wildcats will travel to Niceville, Florida Nov. 23 24 where they will play Niceville High and West Florida out of Pensacola.
Their next scheduled game in the county is Dec. 1 at Vardaman.
