The Vardaman Lady Rams’ season came to an end last week with a two-game sweep in the opening round of the playoffs versus Pine Grove.
The Lady Rams opened the series taking a 2-0 lead in game one, but it was all Pine Grove after that. They rallied for an 8-2 win at the Sportsplex in Vardaman.
Sydney Huffman and Abbey Casey both pitched for Vardaman. The Lady Rams recorded three hits in the game – a double by Nora Blake Parker and singles by Laci Jo Fugett and Anna Beth Lucius.
Pine Grove won game two 6-2 despite recording only four hits off pitchers Huffman and Johnna Landreth. The Lady Rams were plagued with six errors in the field.
Lainey Jo Landreth led the offense with a single and two RBIs. Also recording hits were Fugett, Madison Bullard, Johnna Landreth, Jessica Rodgers and Nora Blake Parker.
