Calhoun Academy will see a few new faces in division play next year, based on realignment projections from MAIS.

Coach Tim Melton

The Cougars’ new division in 2015-16 will feature Hebron, Kemper, Central and Calvary.
Columbus Christian, formerly known as Immanuel, moved to Class AA. Calvary, which is near Meridian, was moved from the south to the north.

Strider was moved to the Delta district and Sharkey went to the south.
Calhoun Academy Coach Tim Melton said it appears Briarfield may go to 11-man in football and said there’s a chance the districts could be done away with completely and go to one north and one south division as it was when the Cougars made it to the state title game.
MAIS won’t make the new alignments official for a few more weeks.
