Vardaman fell to 0-2 on the season with a 43-13 loss at South Pontotoc Friday night.
South Pontotoc opened a 29-0 lead in the first half before Vardaman got on the board.
Kent Casey scored one of the Vardaman touchdowns on a pass from Brandon Walker.
Deon Johnson scored the other on a 4-yard run. Hoscar Gutierrez added the extra point.
The Cougars led 36-6 at the half.
The final Rams score came in the final two minutes of the game.
