The Vardaman Rams have hit tough times of late losing five straight after a 4-1 start to the season.
The Rams suffered defeats to Hamilton and Ethel last week.
Ty Long took the loss in a 9-4 loss to Hamilton. Long, Allan Hendrix, and Chase Owen accounted for the Rams’ hits.
Vardaman visited Ethel Saturday losing 11-4. Dalton Huffman pitched for the Rams. Kent Casey had the only hit for the Rams.
“Our youth has begun to show up,” Vardaman Coach Boo Griffin said. “We’re not getting the timely hits or making the plays in the field like we were the first of the season.”
The Rams will look to get back on the winning track this week with three home games.
They host TCPS Friday night and then host West Union and Bruce on Saturday with games beginning at noon.
