Calhoun County’s summer baseball and softball programs are still planning to hold seasons.

Caleb Tedder, manager of the Sportsplex in Vardaman said they have a May 11 meeting set to discuss a plan for the summer.
“We are still doing everything in our power to play,” Tedder said. “But as of right now, we are still in a holding pattern.”
Mark Ferguson, park director in Bruce, said they also have an early May meeting to develop plans.
“We hope we can start letting teams practice in mid May and play in June and July,” Ferguson said. “We still plan to play summer baseball and softball.”
Ferguson said with just Calhoun City and Houlka playing in a league with Bruce they have enough players and teams at the younger ages to play.
“We’re going to do everything we can to salvage a season,” Ferguson said.
