A dominant performance by Jo Gray on the mound led Calhoun City to a 10-0 win over rival Bruce Thursday night.
Gray surrendered only two hits in five innings of work to earn the win. The Wildcats improved to 5-3 in the region with two games left against Winona. The Trojans, who defeated the Wildcats 6-2 at home on Tuesday, dropped to 6-2 in region with two games remaining against first place East Webster. Both teams have already locked up a playoff spot.
Thursday's game was never in question. The Wildcats posted five runs in the bottom of the first inning against Bruce starter Josh Long and ran away with the game afterwards. Broc Peden entered the game in the first for the Trojans and pitched the next four innings. Cade Spratlin would finish the game for the Trojans.
McGreger Lee led the Wildcat offense with a pair of doubles. Walker hardin, Clay Miller, Hayden Goodson, Skylar Nichols and Davione Hull all hit a double. Jo Gray and Jobi Cook also had a hit.
Broc Peden had the only two hits on the night for the Trojans, both doubles.
