Calhoun Academy earned two big wins last week, one in district play and another out.
They defeated Columbus Christian 22-7 to improve to 2-0 in district.
Lane DeVall led the offense with three hits. Levi Gosa added two. Gosa earned the win on the mound pitching a complete game.
Saturday the Cougars traveled to Winona and beat the Tigers 4-1.
DeVall earned the win on the mound and helped himself with two hits. C.J. Bowling, Seth Walker, Drew Enochs and Tate Porter each had two hits.
“Our defense played well and everyone stepped up for a good win for us,” Cougar Coach Jon Hood said.
The Cougars hosted Hebron Tuesday and will host Grace Christian Thursday in a non district game. They return to district play against Kemper next Tuesday then hit the road for four straight.
