Two Calhoun County natives were inducted into the Mississippi Community and Junior College Sports Hall of Fame this week.
Fred Thomas was a star athlete at Bruce High School who went on to win a national championship with Northwest and enjoy a long career in the NFL, predominantly with the New Orleans Saints.
Dr. Tommy Davis is a graduate of Calhoun City High School who played for "Bull" Sullivan at East Mississippi and coached for more than 20 years in the high school ranks before moving into administration. He would later become president of EMCC. He is pictured with current EMCC President Dr. Thomas M. Huebner Jr.
